Newbuilding Programme

8000 dwt:

One of the best evidence of the company’s development, is that Wilson (for the first time in more than 15 years) has announced that the company is implementing a large newbuilding program. In line with a renewal of the fleet in the 6000 dwt segment, Wilson has entered into an agreement with the Chinese Yichang Shipyard regarding the building of 8 new bulk vessels of about 8300 dwt.

2010: 4 vessels (1st vessel delivered 31 May 2010)

2011: 4 vessels

Draft 7,4 / LOA 123 / 2-holds

The total investment will be appr. MNOK 630. The total capital requirements will be financed as a combination of equity financing and long term bank financing already in place.

In addtion to replace the older vessels in this segment, the renewal will give the company new and increased possibilities in the market.

4500 dwt:

Wilson has also made effective a contract with the Chinese yard Shandong Baibuting Shipbuilding Co Ltd (Rong Cheng, Kina) for the building of a series of 8 bulk vessels of 4500 dwt.

The 8 vessels will be delivered as from the middle of 2010 until the beginning of 2012. The contract involves a split payment in USD (60%) and EUR (40%) and based on today’s rates of exchange means a cost price of around MEUR 7 (MUSD 11) per vessel. The capital requirements is planned financed out of own capital and long term bank financing.
